Cour North Vancouver woman addresses concerns about pregnancy and childpirth JOANNE KATES doesn’t consider herself a superwoman, but the North Vancouver mother of two single-handedly organized an extensive two-day childbirth workshop. The workshop, which — takes place March 1S and 22, will ad- dress women’s concerns on pregnancy — before, during and after term. “There really hasn't been anything like this done before on the North Shore,’' says Kates. “tm super excited about it. As founder of Fitness Dynamics, classes specializing in exercise for pregnant women, Kates will also give wo of the workshops and lead the exercise breaks. She will give one seminar on ex- ercise in pregnancy, and another on teaching mothers and fathers exercises they can do with their baby. On the first workshop day, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the focus will be on pre-natal concerns. On the second workshop day, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the focus will be on the family unit. The cost for both days is $35, or $25 for one day only.
