ONE OF Capilano College’s
most popular courses, Com-
munications 190 (Magazine
Article Writing), will be of-
fered only in the fall semester
of the 1984-85 school year —
and may not be offered again
for a long time.

‘With a tight budget, we
can’t afford to run the course
as well as the other courses
our department offers,’’ said
instructor Crawford Kilian.

The course, which runs on
Thursday evenings from

September 6 to December 10,
shows students how to study
the market for freelance ar-
ticles, organize their
material, and develop a clear,
readable style. Each student
writes three articles, revises
them, and sends them off to
newspapers and magazines.

has about one chance in three
of selling at least one article
before the end of the
semester,’’ Kilian says

Vancouver Province, Kilian
