page 4 - June 15, 1977 - North Shore News TEU sas For some time now, the church has been playing an odd role. Although some churches have been declin-— ing in membership, others, - especially Eastern ideolo- gies, have been gaining in popularity. Maybe this is because what is happening in Western churches today is a long way from the actual religious experience which still can be had with an Eastern religion such as Sufism. On Saturday June 18, 1977, commencing at 9 a.m. Neighbourhood House is once again holding a popular fund-raising event - the Hike For The House. The Board of Directors is sponsoring this event and hopes for partici- pation from members and friends. Several dignitaries have been invited to ‘participate and MLA Emery Barnes has promised to run the entire course. There are several check- points along the 7-mile route through the City of North Vancouver and refreshments will be served at the finish. If you would care to sponsor anyone in_ this fund-raising event, please contact Neighbourhood House at 987-8138 and a sponsor sheet will be provid- ed. _ The directors look forward to seeing you, your family and friends on Saturday, June 18 at 9 a.m. at 225 East 2nd Street, North Vancouver, and hope you will take part in this healthy and entertaining. event.
