Printer’s type of fl HERP’S an idea to fill a wall space with some- thing other than a painting or wreath. Printer’s trays can be found at antique stores and some furniture stores. The best places to find them are in places that restore old fur- niture, especially country fur- niture outlets. These trays are not expensive and can be transformed into beautiful floral arrangements. Materials: picture hanging wire “Improve your your antique printer’s tray glue and glue gun dry floral foam artificial and dried florals nuts and other miscella- neous items to put into the tray Begin by attaching a strong wire to the back of the printer's tray for hanging. The next step is to caretul- ly plan out the look of the tray. Experiment a little on the placing of the flowers in the various compartments. _ The idea is to space out the colors and textures as much as possible. Once you are satis- fied with the temporary placement of the flowers you can begin gluing them into the boxes. The smaller and more fragile flowers will have to be pressed into floral foam and then glued into the com- partments. It’s best to hang these trays in a Jocation that is out of direct sunlight. And if you have a collection of small items such as antique fishing lures, these boxes act as beau- tiful display cases on your wall. —~ Barb Linter lives in West Vancouver.
