GAME... The West Van-
couver Potice will try and
collar a media team from
CKNW/CFMI when the two
meet on the ice on Saturday,
Dec. 4 at the West Vancouver
Arena (786 22nd St., West
Vancouver), The game is set
to start at 6:45 p.m. The goal
of the charity hockey game is
to raise funds for Canuck
Place Hospice for Children
and British Columbia's
Children’s Hospital. Tickets
— available at the West
Vancouver police station, the
arena, or at the game — are
$4 for adults, and $2 for
children 12 years of age and
under. Children 6 and under
get in free, Raffle tickets will
be sold at the game fora
number of prizes, including
an autographed Pavel Bure
jersey.

Solecki received the Artistic
‘Award in the junior ladies’

SOCCER... Three. North
Shore senior boys’ soccer
teams played in provincial
tournaments on Vancouver
Island last weekend. Argyle
finished eighth and West
Vancouver 10th in the AAA
B.C. tournament in Victoria,
while Sutherland came in an
impressive third at the AA
championships in Campbell
River. The Sabres beat three
teams in the 16-team tourna-
ment before losing a heart-
breaking semi-final match on
the last play of the game.
Gilford Park was awarded a
penalty kick with seconds re-
, maining, and scored to win
“3-2. Sutherland mid-fielders
Nick Feddon and Jeremy
Ross were named to the
second-team: all-star squad.
Argyle’s Steve Londan was
named as the goaltender to
the AAA tournament’s
first-team all-star squad.
West Van's Robert White was
also an AAA first-team sélec-
tion, and. White's teammate,
Andy Matheson, made it onto
the second-team roster.
