The event will take place on Saturday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Highlands United Church, 3255 Edgemont Bivd., North Van- couver. The celebration program will in- clude a reunion of the school’s first Grade 11 and Grade 12 stu- dents and previous teachers; a graduation ceremony of this year’s 1989 Grade 11 class; special guests and entertainment. The German school, one of nine in British Columbia, was founded in 1974 by Trude Jackisch. At that time, most of the students came from a German-speaking background, but current principal Christine Colbow says now a high percentage of the students have no prior knowledge of the language. Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Shore Continuing Educa- tion, 2132 Hamilton Ave., North Vancouver. Children are grouped according to age and knowledge, and must be at least five years old.
