Founded in 1993, the Harvest: Project is a privately funded basic needs and fife skills centre Whose mission is to help break the poverty evele by providing a hand up, nota hand out. The organization provides a vehicle for the com- munity to work together and meet the needs of people in North Shore neighbourhoods. But since the Harvest received word from the City of North Vancouver that the building it calls home is to be demolished, it’s been the Harvest Project itself seeking help from the community. On Friday, Sept. 15, the organization . hosted = “A Knight in Camelot,” a medieval feast and auction — also sponsored by the North Shore News -— that was a great success, raising over $25,000 for the Harvest’s new : home. With over .400 guests in attendance, the gala was an authentic medieval experience. Lords and ladies — of. Camelot were dressed in stun- ning medieval costumes. The Barony of Lions Gate, which is a division of the Society for Creative Anachronism, pro- vided music, dancing, and ‘a special knighting ceremony. -Other sponsors for the event included: Cybercongo.com, Calona .
