WE'RE off to see the
wizard this week.

And it’s worth the journey.

Unele Randy Productions
have assembled a cast of 32
adults and 38 children who,
under the direction of Richard
Berg, do an excellent job of
creating a perivet antidote to
winter for the whole Aumily.

I loved the use of projected
illustrations to create a story-
book backdrop to the land of
Oz while the production’s
lighting (Julia Vandergraaf)
and costumes (Jesse White)
combine to keep things
colourful.

Chelsea Read’s Dorothy
hits all the right notes of
anger, fear and courage
(although she misses a few of
the musical ones) before dis-
covering that her heart's desire
is in her own back yard. She
could probably carry the show
herself, but the rest of cast is
just as strong.
