Smudge was humanely killed 19
hours after she was poisoned,

“Eused to get in trouble some-
timnes for saying that Somudge was
our first child. | sometimes would
call her *kid’.” said Henderson.

Henderson, his partner, Vanessa,
and young daughters. Rhea and
Cydnee, are mourning the dog's
untimely death.

The family is offering a $1,000
reward for information that leads to
the conviction of the culprit.

Henderson said an anonymous
handwritten note on fancy stationery
was left on the door of his 3700-
block Campbell Avenue home a few
weeks ago.

The note stated that the writer
was going to contact the bylaw
enforcement officer because the
dogs were noisy.

Henderson contacted a North
Vancouver District bylaw officer
who said no complaint was lodged.
He also checked with some neigh-
bors who said the dogs had not been
unreasonably noisy recently.

Meunwhile a North Vancouver
RCMP spokesman urges residents to
keep anonymous notes: fingerprints
can be recovered from the paper.

The spokesman said police inves-
tigate intentional antifreeze poison-
ings of cats and dogs several times a
year in North Vancouver.
