V OKs school expansion Montessori to include elementary school instruction WEST VANCOUVER District Council decided Monday night to allow the West Yancouver Montessori school to expanc its preschool school instruction. Approval of an additionai por- table classroom sparked debate over the merit of private educa- tion. The Montessori school is located on property owned by the West Vancouver Unitarian Church at 370 Mathers Ave. Current zoning regulations allow the school to offer classes for preschoolers on the church site. While elementary schools are permitted in residential areas, they require larger sites. But West Vancouver Montessori tepresentative Dennis Fitzpatrick said. the inclusion of elementary instruction is temporary. The school plans to establish the pro- gram on a permanent site. “HF successful, we'll move away THE FOLLOWING is a summary of agendas for North Shore municipalities and school districts, and recently approved business lie enc AGENDAS.
