North Shore Continuing Educa- tion will provide classroom and on-the-job training in literacy, occupation, computer, life and business service skilis. Training activities will include business orientation, customer service and computer skills on such systems as Lotus, Bedford, Accpac and Word Perfect. “We are failing if we train people in the technical compo- nents of a job without teaching them the literacy and numeracy skilis that are part of working,” said Collins. “‘This project will give the participants the abilities Necessary to find and keep jobs.”’ The Project Based Training op- tion of the Employability Im- provement Program offers fund- ing to help unemployed people facing labor market difficulties due to a fack of training and ex- perience.
