At the midpoint of the league schedule and a week before the seven teams are divided into ‘tA’ {top three teams) and “B"’ (ext four teams) sections, the leaders are defending-champions Argyle Pipers with 3 wins, 0 losses, 2 ties for eight points. Coached by Steve Brune, Les Wilson and Vince Alvano, Argyle is currently ranked third in the province. But five other teams are within striking distance of the Pipers in the North Shore league. West Vancouver Highlanders (1-0-3-5), under Anthony Chung and Roa Maitland, are tied for second place and have a game in hand over Windsor tukes (2-2-1- 5), coached by Steve Garland and Gordie Simpson. A point behind in a three-way tie are Carson Graham Eagles (2- 1-0-4), Sentinel Spartans (1-1-2-4) and Seycove Seyhawks (1-2-2-4), Howe Sound Sounders, playing their first year, are winless in four outings. Four teams will make the North Shore playoffs with the champion and runner up playing in B.C. zone playoffs with Burnaby schools for two berths in the B.C. championships in Kamloops May 23-25.
