in the second annual garden con-
test organized by North’ Shore
garden clubs.

contest, held in celebration of Ex- -

po 86, was such a success that or-
ganizers decided to repeat the con-
test.

Last year there were more than
80 entries.

Strike said she would like to see
as many this year, and especially
more in the commercial category.

', The other categories are balcony
gardens, small gardens, large
gardens and vegetable gardens.

“Anyone. interested in entering
the garden contest has until July

31.

The judging will take place
beginning in May.

New this year will be a judging
workshop given to the 12 judges,
chosen from local garden associa-
tions and professions.

The workshop will be given by
Professor Doug Paterson, director
of UBC’s School of. Landscape

’ Design later this month.

Application forms are available
at. municipal offices, community
centres, local libraries and
nurseries.
