Thief nabs Englishsheep dog,
leaves sinister threat in note

THERE MAY be
something sinister
behind the _ disap-
pearance of Al
Matewish’s 15-
month-old English
Sheep dog Magoo.

The dog was taken from
the back porch of his East
llth home sometime _ be-
tween 11 p.m. and midnight
Saturday.

‘| had to go out fora few
minutes and when | got back
Magoo was gone,’’
Matewish told the News
Monday

More chilling was the note
Matewish found on the front
porch of his home — the
note writer said he intended
to “chop the dog up and
throw himiuinto the river™’

Matewish, shaken by the
incident, says he can’t
understand why anyone
would leave such a note
Magoo was a gentle and
kind dog and had = not
created any problems in the
neighborhood

He never hurt

Matewish reported the
matter to the police who are
sull investigating the dog's
disappearance He has also
contacted the SPCA and
Dons Orr but neither have
seen the dog. He plans to
contact them daily, and will
get in touch with Vancouver
Police as well.
