Flying the new 767
down to a Reno casino

WHEN YOU write a
travel column,
anything can happen -
and usually does, when
you're least prepared
and at short notice. I’m
positive I wasn't on the
first list of “dignitaries”
chosen to be included
in the PWA-Silverwing
inaugural flight of the
Boeing 767 to Reno on
St. Patrick’s day.
However, a few no-
show guests left gaps
and guess what?

First, the new 767. What a
beautiful bird! It’s by far the
most comfortable plane I've
ever mdden - wider seats.
more leg room and quiet. It
cruises higher (approx.
40.000 feet), escaping much
of the turbulence caused by
bad weather.

The seats are set in a 2-3-2
configuration with two
aisles, meaning that 87 per
cent of the seats have either
a window or are on an aisle
On the technical side, chub-
by wings allow greater lift - it
takes off like a rocket’ and

a problem that it appears. In
my rush to fit the trip into a
busy schedule. I short-
changed myself and after the
$70 was gone, | was down to
three crumpled Canadian

bail my car out of the airport
parking lot.

sad experience that the

First. wear old, flat shoes.

need for jackets. tres or
dresses - slacks and tops are

credit application - not too
expensive but the usual

no delay should I ever need
