campaign has been all about
trving to paint the Canadian
Alliance as extremist, right-
wing fanatics whe would

that there’s any evidence of
any sort of extremist views.
On the contrary, it seems to
me that the views expressed
by Stockwell Day se tar have
been measured and sprinkled
with a large dose of com-
mon sense.

Yer, thus far the media,
with a few potable excep-
tions, have vet to provide a
serious analysis of the
Liberal record or the princi-
ple differences between the
two main parties. Instead,
we get drivel, like complain-
ing about Day’s grammar
when he speaks French.

Given the way Chrétien mas-
sacres the English language
one is hard pressed to
understand how a Torenta
Star columnist could devote
any space to that topic lez
alone the bulk of a column,
Internet discussion
groups also seem to be
tadicative of the same thing.
Alliance and other support-
try to nik about the
issues and the iiberal propo-
nents will not debate. They
trot out all the fear rhetoric
that Chrétien himself now
seems to be resorting lo.
Liberals like to think of
themselves as the natural
party of government. The
way this campaign is evolv-
ing it seems they will do or
say anything to get re-elect-
ed, even raising the spectre
of the horrors of Nazism.

crime issues. He was wrong

pedophiles. Good Lord, he

sweetheart deal given to for-
mer school principal William
Bennest.

1 would appreciate using
your mailbox to express my
thanks to two young ladies
who assisted me, a senior, on
Mount Seymour Parkway
last week.

Thad made an emergency
sop ina bus stop and was
faced with finding a phone
to call BCAA, when the girls
cane up and offered their
cell phone. Obviously high
school students from nearby
Windsor school, they were
fine examples of today's
youngsters who are so often _
maligned.
