At the Wickaninnish Inn,

Opened laste August, the
new Inn offers 46 guest
rooms, each with a fireplace,
and oversized soaker tub and
balcony. (The original Inn was
converted to a marine inter-
pretive centre when Pacific
Rim National Park Reserve
was creaved in 1972.)

themselves away from the
working world, dual telephone

But the atmosphere of the
Pacific Ocean should: dispel
any impulses to log on.

Indeed, the only surfing
that should be done during a
stay at this rustic resort is on
the breaking waves along
Chesterman'’s Beach (board
and wetsuit rentals are avail-
able up the read at the Live to
Surf shop).

And if hanging 10 is not
your thing, sea kavaking, fish-
ing, golfing, scuba diving and
whale-watching — excursions
abound.
