THE Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) has approved the appointment of Nancy Millar as ani- mal control officer for Bowen Island. A recent report to the GVRD board of directors said that an animal control officer is needed on the island because of inci- dents involving sheep, geese, deer and other wildlife kills. as well as for the protection of the population. ‘The decision was made by the GVRD because Bowen Island is unincorporated and does not have a local council.
