CL AETOML Lis EER AO INR Te all Dear Editor: Mr. David Schreck has proved that to be a good socialist you must not stray too far froin party precedent. Indeed, he is not only following a prece- dent set by our present and former premier he is leading them by clearly stating that he knows nothing. Mr. Harcourt honed the technique when he denied knowing anything about the Nanaimo - Bingo scandal. This admission of knowing nothing is quite remarkable since everyone else in the province knows through the actions of Mr. Stupich that’ Bingogate was set up to fund the NDP. Our newest labor premier Glen Clark. when he was’ minister responsible for B.C. Hydro, knew nothing about the provincial Crown corporation, set up by taxpayers, incor- porating a private company with private investors, when the purpose of a Crown cor- poration is to be solely owned by and respon- To be sure Mr. Clark will carry this strengthening precedent of knowing nothing into his new job of overseeing all of our provincial ministries, We can be most proud of North Vancouver MLA David Schreck, fle has taken the prece- dent of knowing nothing to new heights. That of knowing absolutely nothing about what his fellow Hydro board members were about concerning the setting up of IPC Internationa! Power Corp. in order to enrich fellow travelers with share ownership. It was awe-inspiring to watch his ashes and | sack cloth performance even to the point of laying his job on the line if the lie detector test 3 proved that he knew nothing. [am sure that he feels justified in that it proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he § knows nothing ... absolutely. William R. Stuart President Reform Party of B.C. My mother is one of those affected. Though healthy, her arthritic hip and knee make shopping difficult. When I was young I used to fight a lot. I used to pick a fight for no reason: | would . get caught by a‘cop ‘and Other residents have dizzy spells, are hard of hearing, or must use walkers. The dis- tance from their apartments to the south side of the mall is teo close to take a taxi, yet too far to walk easily while carry- ing heavy purchases. A $1 million gondola that would serve only 12 passen- gers, as the article described, is a sorry joke. 1 was happy you singled out former shuttle bus driver, Lyle Fraser, now out of a job. _ His unflagging courtesy to his k or walk thrown in jail for the night. 1 would do this again and so on until I was charged and went to jail for a longer period of time. I thought this was the way to solve a problem, but it just got me into trouble. © > Teenagers should deal with their problems by talk- ing to the person or by walk- ing away.
