River eer closure The closure of an access to Seymour river at the top of Riverside Drive is not deterring people from using the area, according to Doris Chu, the president of the Mount Seymour Ratepayers Association. “People are ignoring the closure sign,” she said. “It's easy to climb over or go around.” North Vancouver District Council closed the access to an area around ‘Pool 88’, because of complaints by residents about noisy parties being held in the area. Vancouver kayakers are upset over the decision because they say it prevents them getting to one of the best areas on the North Shore for beginner kayakers. ‘People are carrying a lot of animosities and don't understand the situation,” Chu said.
