* In general, remember that spots and
stains are more easily removed when fresh.
Check a stain removal guide before washing
or disetss the stain with your drycleaner.

* Separate colors before washing. Many
cottons are susceptible to dye bleeding.

* Test for colorfastness by wetting a small
piece of the garment, placing it between two
pieces of white cotton and pressing with a
hot iron. If the color bleeds, wash separate-

* Allow detergent to mix thoroughly with
