By Patricia L. Johnson Contributing Writer Held every two years, the dance was held this year at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver. Each chapter of the sorority had chosen a queen prior to the ball, and 10 of the.12 chapters on the North Shore were represented. The !0 chapter queens com- peted for the title of Queen of the Rhapsody Rose Ball. The women were escorted up to the stage one at a time, each wearing a banner bearing the name of her chapter. Adding to the suspense was Ann Davey of Laureate Alpha Xi chapter who competed against her daughter Heather Davey of Phi Upsilon chapter. Other contestants for the title included Pat Oswald of Pi chapter, Marion Beck of Omega, Carol Krieger of Xi Rho, Barb McLauchlin of Xi Psi, Janice Deery of Xi Alpha Eta, Rita Smiley of Preceptor Kappa, Marilyn Burnham of Preceptor An Evening with International Image Consultant Phi, and Suzanne Turner of Preceptor Alpha Kappa. Preceptor Alpha Kappa's Lesley McAltister, the North Shore Van- couver Council Reigning Queen was also present. Each queen was given a gift, all but one of which were the same. Carol Krieger of Xi Rho chapter received a sorority Queen pin, thereby becoming Queen of the Rhapsody Rose Ball. There were draws throughout the evening for doorprizes, and someone from each table won a centrepiece, all of which were handmade by the dance commit- tee.
