A woman working at the
Jiffy Mart store on Mirine
Drive in North Vancogver
has been charged with two
counts of public mischief
arising from reports made to
the police that the store had
been robbed.

Police are alleging that the
woman had told them she
had been held up and robbed
twice while working in the
store but that she had really
pocketed the money she
claimed had been stolen.

The first report that the
store had been robbed was
made November 27 when

West Vancouver resident
Cynl Keetch was convicted
Wednesday of taking cash
kickbacks from food brokers
when he was the top food
buyer for Woodward's stores

A Vancouver County
Court jury spent eight hours
deliberating before finding
the former vice-president of
the store chain's food
operations guilty of six out of
seven charges that he ac-
cepted bribes.

The charges had arisen
from RCMP investigations

RCMP officers were told
that a native Indian had gone
into the store, held up the
assistant at knifepoint and
left with a small amount of
money. The robber was said
to have been last seen
leaving on a 10-speed cycle,

RCMP received another
complaint that the store had
been held up, by a man with
the same description given
the previous time.
