underwear basics. This year’s in-
timate apparel is feminine and

The underlying message is in
sleck and silky lingerie. Influenced
by the Europeans, who are known
for paying as much attention to
what goes on underneath as they
do to their clothes, lingerie has
gained new space in most
women’s closets.

It is no longer a frivolous extra
that sits idly in a sachet-filled
drawer. Lingerie can be worn
every day and every night.

Whether it was a Christmas gift
from him or something that you
indulged in yourself, wear it with
style and confidence... Mix and
match it with your separates as
loungewear for entertaining, as a
feminine addition to 2 business

They concentrate on~ novelty

Fabrics soften in saudwashed
silk, silk crepe de chine,
charmeuse, breezy rayons, satin,
jacquard and sheer chiffon. Solid
colors are still the most popular in
deep winter shades. However, a

demi-cut bras, merry widows, half
slips, garter belts, short petticoats

icate emuroidery, eyelets and
beading.

Slim and long is the newest
trend, in answer to the longer,
shapely clothing silhouettes this
year. However, short is still new
when it’s shown in sexy little

Pushup, underwire, seamless
and shecr are among the direc-
tions that bras are taking. Sexy

brassieres steam up ‘‘founda-
tions’? collections for winter,
especially in the flattering push-up
styles.

Sleek, clean-lined underwear is
also fashionable. Many — styles
feature seamless cups that give a
smooth figure under curve-cling-
ing apparel.

Designers also add a
Lycra spandex content to bras and
panties for better fit, and pad
underwired bras to emphasize
