threatening for some, Sharma
says, and it often takes time for a
relationship of trust to build be-
tween herself and the client.

Sharma will tailor the massage
to the individual, asking if there
are any parts of the body which
need special attention, or if there
are any injuries that should be
avoided.

Then with the foreboding words,
“Breathe in if you experience any
pain,”’ she sets about her work,
armed with a bottle of lotion and
competent hands.

This type of a massage may not
be for everyone — at times it is
quite rigorous and, true to Shar-
ma’s words, requires deep
breathing.
