An ES Limited Edition is scheduled for mid-year. The 1989 Eagie Premiers are available with cruise control in ad- dition to a host of standard and optional convenience equipment. Available in two models ~ LX and ES — the Euro-styled front- wheel-drive intermediate sedan boasts outstanding acrodynamic Performance without an extreme aero appearance. ‘*Premier continues its position as a high technology sedan with a host of features,'’ says John B. Damoose, vice-president sales and marketing for Chrysler Canada. More than 50 per cent of Premier's functions are directed by 10 on-board computers. Their combined power exceeds that of a typical home computer. Premier's ‘‘smart heater’’ delays blower operation until it can pro- vide warm air, its electronic turn signals are self-cancelling and the optional power locks are actuated by an infrared signal by the remote keyless entry transmitter. Additionally, key operating functions are placed at the driver’s fingertips via electronic controls located in pods on either side of the optional tilt steering column. Five passenger Eagle Premier models are equipped with a full floor console. A floor-mounted shifter is scheduled for mid-year introduction. Premier for 1989 has increased levels of standard equipment in keeping with the expectations of upscale buyers Premier is targeted to allract, Previously optional equipment now standard includes rear win- dow defogger and floor mats on both models. A full analog rally instrument cluster with tachometer is now standard on LX. Based on buyer feedback, a more conventional sounding chime replaces the high tech ‘tbeep'’ of the turn signals.
