Woman jailed for fraud . A 25-YEAR-OLD woman of no fixed address was sentenced to six months in jail after she pleaded guilty July 4 in West Vancouver provincial couri to two counts of fraud. Kimberly Anne Yake was originally charged with two counts of fraudulently personating a living person and two counts of defrauding another person of less than $1,000 in connection with incidents Feb. 6 and 8, Appearing before Judge R.D. Grandison, Yake pleaded guilty to both counts of fraud and was sentenced to six months in jail on each. The sentences will be served concurrently. A stay of proceedings was entered by the Crown in the two per- sonation counts laid against Yake. Driving offence lands man in jail A 22-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced to nine days in jail and fined $300 after he was found guilty of driving while prohibited. Grant Nolan Davis was originally charged in connection with u Dec, 15, 1987 incident in which he was pulled over in North Van- couver. Three appear on B&E charges THREE VANCOUYER men appeared July 6 and 7 in North Van- couver provincial court to face charges of break, enter and theft and possession of stolen property. Richard Joseph Spence, 26, Robert William Spence, 23, and Gregory Todd Coghlan, 23, were charged jointly with one count of break, enter and theft in connection with a May 22 incident in which a home on Canyon Boulevard in the Capilano Highlands area was alleged to have been broken into. Coghlan also faces a charge of possession of stolen property fol- lowing a police seizure of cigarettes and food. Richard and Robert Spence are further charged with break, enter and theft in connection with a May 22 incident in which a house on Grace Crescent in the Capilano Highlands area of North Van- couver was alleged to have been burglarized. The two were also charged with possession of stolen property worth over $1,000 fol- lowing 2 police seizure of two mountain bikes and 2 cache of jew- elry. Coghlan and Robert Spence appeared July 6 in North Vancouver provincial court to face the charges. Richard Spence appeared the following day. : All three have been remanded to July 20 for their next court ap- pearance. W firm wins federal contract A WEST Vancouver-based shipping company has won a $749,889 federal government contract to transport canola oil for the Cana- dian International Development Agency (CIDA). Maritime Agencies, a division of Maritime Group (Canada) Inc., will ship the oil to the Peruvian ports of Catlao and Paita. The shipment is donated by CIDA under its Bilateral Food Aid Program. Swimming hours extended at park. ' DUE to the closure of the beach for swimming in Panorama Park, the North Vancouver Recreation Commission will post lifeguards at Cates Park for extended hours.
