American attack on Libya Monday night.

: President Ronald Reagan, they have begun to
whine, has taken the first step towards plunging the
world into the nuclear holocaust so long predicted.

But the attack has landed a direct blow to. the taun-
_.ling mid-section of international terrorism.

Before Monday’s attack, repeated American warn-
ings of reprisal and economic sanction against the
‘North African country for its continued use and ad-

' yvocacy of terrorism were met with the equivalent of
thumbed noses and Bronx cheers.

The rattling of sabres becomes. the innocuous squeak
of rusty steel if it-is continually backed with nothing
more than idle threats.

Hesitation to dole out’ swift justice to international
hooligans’ has only encouraged them to ‘Pursue their
