SINGER BRYAN ADAMS
from West Vancouver, who
is up for seven Juno awards,
is back in town filming a
part of his five-song video,
which will be released two
weeks after his new record
Reckless, coming out on his
25th birthday Nov. 5.
Adams played to a full
house at the Orpheum Wed-
nesday, a free concert given
specifically for the filming of
the video, and as Adams
says, a chance for his group
to rehearse new songs to a
live audience. Speaking at a

press conference Monday
with Adams, centre, and
video producer Simon

Bruce Allan said about free
ticket sales earlier this week,
where about 3,000 fans lined
up for 1,300 tickets, ‘‘l guess
you could say it’s a good
idea gone wrong, but I think
you're damned if you do,
you're damned if you
don't.””

Anything goes for jazz musicians

IN THE LIFE of a jazz musician, anything goes.
One mght the work might be to back a visiting
vocalist, the next to lay down tracks in the studio
for a jingle or t.v. theme. Then there’s the nights on
the stand at one of the half-dozen local jazz bistros,
improvising on old standards with a couple of

buddies.
