‘warded

the Governor
General’s gold medal for
outstanding academic
achievement at UBC. He
graduated with a Bachelor of
Science degree, with com-
bined honors in mathematics
and physics. :
Other awards netted by
Stevenson included the R.D.

James medal in mathematics
and the G.C. Weber Memo-
rial Prize.

Stevenson previously won
the Governor General’s
silver medal at his high
school graduation ceremo-
nies after he achieved the top
marks in the province in the
grade 12 scholarship exams.

Lee was not only an avid
science student while at
SFU, but also a track star.
She captained the universi-
ty’s 1983 women’s track
team that placed fourth in
the NAIA national champi-
onship, running on three
relay teams, and placing
