West Van Police
look for reserves

Volunteers are wanted

SO YOU'VE always
wanted to be a
policeman.

The West Vancouver
Police Department is of-
fering a chance.

The WVPD is seeking
members for its reserve unit,
volunteers who work
alongside uniformed
members of the force nights,
weekends and on _ special
occasions.

It’s a way, says WVPD's
Cst. Dave Marskell, of
becoming a member of the
force without having to com-
mit yourself to policing full-
time.

The police department is
accepting applications for the
reserves now and is looking
for men and women willing
to put ‘in’ the patrol time,
without being paid for it.

Reserves are used by the
police to help with routine
patrols and to cope with such
special times of the year as
Hallowe’en.

All applicants are required
to be Canadian citizens with
grade 12 education or the
equivalent and they must be
physically fit and able to
swim well.
