District wants co-op control |

IN EFFORTS to ensure they
have control over future co-
operative housing conver-
sions, North Vancouver
District Council will be ap-
proaching Canada Mortgage

and Housing Coporation
with the request that con-
sultation on any such pro-
jects be held between Council
and CMHC prior to the ap-
proval of such applications.

The move follows the
amendment of an application
submitted on behalf of the

River Woods Housing Co-
Operative for a development
permit to construct a multi-
family housing project in In-
dian River off Hamber Place.

Where the former applica-
tion called for the construc-
tion of one and two bedroom

luxury units, the new owners

of the site are now proposing
three and four bedroom
units, with a reduction in
total floor space.

The new application will
see the number of units
decreased from 91 to 90 with
the extra space to be tacked
on to the recreation room

dorse the proposed changes

warded for consideration.
