Tues., Feb. 24, 1981, 8:30 pm Cable T.V. Ch 10

Join in a television version of the old town hall meetings with your District

Mayor and Aldermen. Residents are invited to phone-in questions or com-
ments to Council from their home.

1) Oistrict Land for Housing Can high tand prices be reduced and what

effect would this have on existing homes?

Should the Oistrict sell or lease residential
lots?

Should individuals be given preference over
“builders” for these lots?

Should low income tamilies be given a sub-
sidized lot price?

2) Second (illegal) suites in houses Should second suites be allowed to ease the -

rental shortage and/or help people with high
mortage payments?

What effect on the quality of life for
neighbourhoods would these sultes have?

Should “in-law” suites only be allowed?

Following discussions on items (1) and (2)
there will be an opportunity for residents to
call in on other topics at 985-2161

This new program is being supported by District Council as a way of obtaining direct

public input and teedback on items which have been or are about to be considered by
council

While individual Council members are available to the public by either telephone or
mail, this program is unique in that it provides an opportunity that does not presently

exist, for the public to discuss with Council as a group, items of current community in-
terest
