Scouts, Beavers piant trees PAST PRESIDENT of Seymour Scouting district council Mark Bradwell ainounced recently that 800 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts would participate in the national Trees for Canada program. It is expected that Seymour Scouts will plant a total of 6,000 trees in the City and District of North Vancouver ard in the Seymour Demonstration Forest on April 21. Bradwell stated that Trees for Canada is designed to give all members of Scouting the opportu- nity to demonstrate, in a practical way, their concern for Canada. Approximately two million trees will be planted by Scouts in Canada this year. Trees for Canada helps to beautify Canada and will provide a future resource for all Canadians. To ensure that the trees will be planted correctly and will have a maximum chance for survival, Seymour Scouting district council has arranged for all participants to receive practical training in con- servation and reforestation. Bradwell pointed out that Trees for Canada is also a fundraising project for Seymour Scouting district council. The funds raised this year will be used to help fur- ther Scouting in the community and meet local needs. Some of the money raised will be used to sup- port international programs of Scouts Canada, practical programs designed to help feed and support their families and communities. Each participating Beaver will plant 10 trees; each Cub and Scout 20 trees. ia5s0N i off Tobinsso knowledge for Top oa Cogm mar tinanes af heme: enrweg A yereran \ . playwright giv Happy Easter We will be closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday (April 13th and April 15th) To allow you and ourselves time to spend with our families and loved ones.
