» TWO ARSON fires on the weekend have North Vancouver
City Fire and Rescue asking residents to clean up and get
vid of debris.

Assistant fire prevention chief Dave Burgess said fires
were sel at Westview Shopping Centre Saturday afternoon
and Larson Elementary Sunday afternoon. :

. .- Firefighters aren’t-so concerned about the minimal
damage done by the blazes, but they are concerned about
the poiential ‘that existed for much bigger fires.

A In both instances, fire was set to debris outside the
buildings. Calling the arsons random, Burgess suid if the
debris wasn't there the fires would likely not have been set.
_- Both incidents are being investigated. Youths Were seen
at the site of the Larson fire. :
