The preliminary three days focus on Park Royal Shopping Centre with exhibits from a wide array of organizations featuring the story of west coast salmon and the natural wonders of B.C. “Salmon Iraagery in Art,’’ the mail art show by North and West Van elementary students, is coor- dinated by the West Van Arts Council. And on Saturday the youngsters hold their tag day there to collect donations towards aquariums, featuring equipment and incubation boxes for over 80 salmon enhancement projects in iccal classrooms. Fitness buffs can start Festival Sunday with a 14-km ‘‘jog- athon’’ or 2 two-hour nature hike (each with one-way shuttle buses.) At the park itself festivities go non-stop from the 8:30 to 11 a.m. breakfasts to the end of the seven-hour salmon barbecue around 6 p.m. There’s continuous cutdoor "stage entertainment, a maze for ° “kids of all ages,” and beer garden, a 50-ft. walk-through salmon, wandering clowns and other fun galore. Matching this mass of activity, the other unique aspect of the : event are the scores of volunteers and contributors who put it all - together under the direction of the Coho Festival Seciety and its co- sponsors — West Van Chamber of Commerce, QM/FM Radio and the ‘Y’.
