Soccer boys battle for berth - HEADING INTO the homestretch of the North Shore high school senior boys’ soccer schedule, four teams are jockeying for berths in the B.C. championships. Argyte Pipers, Carson Graham Esagies, West Vancouver Highlanders and Sutherland Sabers are separated by only four points. The second round, will deter- mine the North Shore champion to go up against Burnaby-New Westminster’s best for a spot in the 16-school provincial tourna- ment Nov. 16-18 in Burnaby. Argyle coaches Steve Bruno and Les Wilson are back again looking for more gold. Bruno says “‘This is a hardworking, disciplined team that, while not technically as good with as many stars as last year, works better as 4 team.”” Starters back are midfielders Trev Short and Alfred Wendt, de- fender Garreth Morgan and goalkeeper Joha Adams.
