Styan, 21, was less than half a second off the winning pace set by Swiss skier Karl Alpiger. Styan clocked a time of 2:08.36, while Mcleish navigated the cold, relatively icy 3,678 metre course in 2:08.51. The Swiss captured the top three places im the event, with Alpiger, 20, from Wildhaus, Switzerland, leading the pack im 2:07.92. Compatriots Bruno Fretz and Urs Raeber finished second and third. Council voted to in- vestigate whether the group’s horses can be ac- comodated at the Korral Riding Academy on Lynn Valley Road before looking for land of its own to lease out. But some District aldermen don’t think Korral will fit the needs of the people who want to start the centre. Aldermen Mary Segal and Peter Powell told council at a recent meeting that Korral is a commercial operation where horses are boarded, leaving little scope for personal care by the horse owners. “It's ai different entirely,” said Segal.
