i ; FROM PAGE B1 the winter months and it has become an excellent way to stay fit. Brent has represented B.C. at the past three national road and track championships in the summer and apart from 1979, when a knee injury forced him to the sidelines, he has been racing cyclo- cross for four years. Never a participant in team sports, Mudry turned naturally to bike racing through friends of the family being involved in the sport at the old bike track in Van- couver. Until the track was taken out last October, Mudry was also racing on the boards as well as the road racing and cyclo-cross. However, with the old track no longer available, most of his cnergies will be spent on the road racing. The young West Van racer trains regularly and will be preparing for the upcoming road racing scason with his aims of making that big jump to tho international level both with the more orthodox racing and the winter cyclo-cross. CYCLO-CROSS RAC- ING includes manoeuvering an ob- stacle course and requires a great deal of endurance.
