Mother fears
another crash
on fer property

CATHY Cooper doesn’t feel safe at home.

The North Vancouver resident lives on East 25th, a sirect

just above the Trans-Canada Highway about tour blocks east of

Lonsdale.

On July 7,a Nerth Vancouver man drove his Ford Explorer
through the concrete fence below Cooper’ 's house.

The vehicle rolled over onto 25th Street and sent debris
everywhere. The driver was wapped in the wreck.

Firefighters had to extricate him. Remarkably, the driver sur-

ed.

Cooper said this is the second time a single vehicle accident
of this kind has happened at the same spot in the laste 13
months.

She said her truck parked on her property has sustained
about $15,000 damage from debris from the accidents.

“If they hit that fence, it literally explodes,” said Cooper.

The spot is on a straight stretch of well-lit road.

She suggests some type of barrier should be considered ft
the area.

She believes the fencing now only provides privacy and acts
as a highway noise buffer.
