Anne Eady has been teach- ing dance at West Vancouver's recreation centre for approxi- mately D1 years. She says thar thanks to groups — like Riverdance, ap dancing is undergoing 2 resurgence in popularin, “IT think it (Riverdance) has definitely rekindled an interest in tap,” she says. There are currently over 40 adults in the West Vancouver tap program and the prediction is for that number to rise again come next registration. Meanwhile, Eady and her students have jumped on the bandwagon. They have been busy working on a perfor: mance piece modeled after the ‘ internationally popular Irish dance ensemble. Calling themselves “Creekdance,” the dancers have managed to produce an impressive rendition of the oth- erwise traditional folk steps. And while Eady admits to tak- ing some artistic liberties, “Creekdance” looks | and sounds remarkably authentic. But even more impressive than the dance is the ladies that make the performance itself 1515 EASTERN AVE. $139,800 come alive. And Andrea is thankful that mom helped her rediscover her dancing talents.
