Film and Theatre School artistic director Catherine Caines will ALL-AGES CHRISTMAS DANCE Party to capture Earhart spirit THE SPIRIT of flyer Amelia Earhart is being honored at an all-ages Christmas party and dance produced by Nardwuar the Human Serviette this weekend. “‘Amelia Earhart will return for this,"’ said Nardwuar, who is known in real life as John Ruskin, 19. ‘Et's just sort of something that’s fun to do.” Fifty years ago — on July 2, 1937 — Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan were lost somewhere in the South Pacific during a round-the-world flight attempt. The two were never found, but Nardwuar/Ruskin is trying to keep the spirit alive. ‘‘The spell of Earhart will wear off as 1988 ap- proaches,’’ he said. ‘‘It wil! be her S5ist year of being lost. The magic 50 years are running out.”’ Playing at the event will be North Shore bands The One Eyed Jacks, The Hip Type, The Evaporators, Wee Beasties, and King Martin K. and the Tribal Beats. The second such dance produced by Ruskin, Amelia Earhart’s direct the afternoons of fun in the historic Ann Macdonald Hall at Presentation House. The sessions run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on both days.
