RANDY RAINE-REUSCH will be
perferming at Expo 86 July 8 to

Influenced by the musical tradi-
tions of the East and incorporating
the contemporary styles and
technologies of the West, Raine-
Reusch has developed several pro-
jects to be performed on the Expo
site.

Each explores new musical ter-
ritory, and exposes fairgoers to
musical styles and forms they

would likely never experience
otherwise.

Expo 86 officials consider
Raine-Reusch’s Trombones Over
Water concerts to be among the
most successful of the on-site per-
formances,

For this composition, he has
spaced trombonists at equal inter-
vals around the lagoon adjacent to
the Xerox International Stage.

In this study of the physical
movement of music through space,
the musicians pess notes, segments

and themes from one to the other
and back again, surrounding en-
tranced passers-by.

Raine-Reusch effectively
transforms the plaza near the USA
Pavilion into an environmental
performance area.

The concerts began during the
first month of the fair, and will be
repeated July 8 to 21.

Raine-Reusch will also give solo
concerts in the Canada Pavilion
Aug. 4 to 10 and perform in con-
cert with Ken Newby Sept. 1 to 7.
