founded on “fascist” policies

Palestinians.

“I don’t think that there is
any room far a state of
Isracl,” the long-time
supporter of the PLO said in
an interview with the
magazine Monday Morning
released Sunday.

“The state of Isracl was
established not in the in-
terest of Jews or the Arabs or
the Palestinians, but in the
interest of imperialism,
aggression, death, deporta-
tion, mass demolition of
houses — the very methods
used by the fascist German
regime against the Jews,” the
actress said.

“I believe that the state of
Isracl must be overthrown,
there can be no room for
such a state.

Redgrave said she hopes
to make her first visit to the
Jewish stato “the day the
Palestinian revolution wins,
and I'm = absolutely con-
vinced that the day ia not
very far away.”

The actress, who caused a
furor by starring in a recent
television film about a
concentration camp = sur-
vivor, said. she : would
continue to stipport the PLO
of Yasser Arafat’ despite
death threats from Zionist
organizations in the United
States.

The threats were triggered
by her critically acclaimed
portrayal of Auschwitz
survivor Fania Fenelon in
“Playing for Time.”
