(Terry Peters photo) NS racer looking to next season The 1980 Road Racing Season drew to a close in B.C. this past weekend with the final race being run at Westwood as part of the Sports Car Club of B.C.'s Endurance Race weekend. The North Shore News Formula Vee driven by Marty Knoll and sponsored by Minit-Tune and Cleanco Western, was there to cap off a successful season with a second place finish to Al Ores of Burnaby. The race itself was uneventful save for an early race dice between Knoll and Larry Bangert of Seattle Using traffic to his ad- vantage, Knoll was able to put Bangert behind and dnve home to his second place finish. The F-Vee class consists of a small, single seat open- wheel cars powered by 1200cc VW engines. The emphasis is therefore placed on dnving skill rather than the cars themselves although good race preparation is important as well. With their small tires, many say (that the F-Vee's are more difficult to drive fast than the larger cars in other classes.
