Registration for winter and spring lessons continues daily, Monday through Friday, from 9'a.m. to 4 p.m. For information call 926- 8585. 12,000 on North Shore In British Columbia, one in every six adults _has.completed less than ning years of schooling while in the North Vancouver and Capilano federal constituencies, the number is 12,000, according to Jim Duvall, ai Capilano College instructor. Duvall, an arca representative of the Adult Basic Education Association of B.C. claims that the limited education may cause the adults ‘to lack many of the basic reading, writing, and math skills needed to cope with the demands of Canadian life’. He went on to say that ‘no government financed solution to the occupational, family, health, and welfare problems faced by these people will be effective without adcquate basic education to enable them to function more competently and to exercise morc self direction in their lives’. Speaking recently to Association members at Capilano College, Duvall quoted from a _ Federal report released in October, 1979, by Canadian Miniter of Labour, Lincoln Alexander.
