The land dispute’s history dates to 1915, when Charles Dalton ac- quired a first mortgage on the land. At the time, Dalton owned most af the Horseshoe Bay area. He foreclosed on it and the Gleneagles plots in 1917, The last Supreme Court record in the case dates to 1918, Dalton later became Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. He died in office in 1933. Meanwhile Dalton’s estate knew nothing of the Gleneagles lands.
