Capilano Suspension Pridge Entrance Gateway Harrison said that the pro- ject was noteworthy for the integration of. buildings and site design. Deep Cove-Mount Seymour Fire Hall : The award noted that the building design was “a good example of getting an inter- esting building out of some- thing which - traditionally focuses on function.” Burrardview Housing Co- op ; . The award notes that: “the removal of vehicles from the. central area. of the . project gives the area back to the res- ‘idents for play and interac- tion” Herbourview Park Viewing _ Platform ; The award states: “The platform ramp and pathway ‘design go beyond what was required to provide a func-° tional viewing platform. ~ 3051-3055 Highland Bivd. An infill development that houses Sui Generis Gallery, a courtyard and office space while respecting the charac- ter already established on the adjacent buildings. Capilano College Library The award notes the build- ing’s “strong design state- ment which serves as a focus to the college and a major element-in the newly created public space.” Nahanee Woods Townhouse Project Harrison said the project displayed a sensitive han- dling of high density despite a difficult site. Mt. Seymour Median Planting Harrison said the award recognized the benefit of such work to the overall char- acter of the municipality.
