NORTH VANCGUVER DISTRICT COUNCIL by Martin Millerchip Goldsmith-Jones made the offer during debate Oct. 17 on the costs of the official opening of North Vancouver District's tew municipal hall. Municipal staff had proposed that council approve a budget of $5,900 in addition to an already approved promotion budget of $2,500 for a total ouilay of $8,400 onan event that has. as yet, no date. But council members were unan- imous in their desire to keep down the costs of the event “We have to sicp setting our- selves up as officials when the pub- lic come and see us {| don't mind spending a bit of money, but TE don't think the public is interested in any- more ‘we-come-lo-you" events,” said Goldsmith-Jones.
