Fun supervisors promote play

Elizabeth MacGregor, the pool programmer agrees,
“It's very important to ensure that elements of fun
and play are incorporated into public swim sessions.”

Times for fun supervisors are Saturdays from |} to
2:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

“fF you haven't been to one of these sessions,'’ says
Barrieau, *'you're in for a big teat.”

WHAT ARE ‘fun supervisors’ and what are they do-
ing at recCentre Lonsdale?

Fun supervisors are lifeguards who, at designated
times during public swims, jump into the water and
play with the children.

Frank Barrieau, one of the fun supervisors says,
“By decorating the pool with colorful flags, balloons
and inflatable toys, the atmosphere becomes special
and the kids have a great time,"*
